Analysis: It was the second consecutive outing in which Ray pitched at least seven innings without allowing a run and yielding just two hits. Ray improved to 3-1 with an 0.81 ERA on the road, and his next scheduled start is Tuesday in Pittsburgh. However, he's 0-2 with an 8.00 ERA in four starts versus the Pirates, including a season-low four-inning outing May 14 when he gave up four runs and six hits.
